If I was starting my gift wrapping business again.
I would:
- Do more research to make sure that all the important legal, financial & insurance side of running a small business were in place before I launched so I didn’t waste time (or money) on things I don’t need or miss something that I do.
- Tell everyone that already knew, liked & trusted me i.e. friends, family, former colleagues what I was up to (I’d probably ask them if they’d allow me to wrap gifts for them too so I could ask for testimonials (more about that in a future post).
- Not worry about what other, more established and experienced, gift wrapping business owners were charging for their services or classes. I spent a lot of time comparing myself to other people I knew in the industry (of which there were few) even though they had many more years of experience than I did.
And I wouldn’t spend so much time – and money – buying unnecessary gift wrapping supplies, until I had customers, or a class booked (that people had paid to attend).
Starting a gift wrapping business can feel overwhelming – especially when there is so little information available – but it doesn’t have to feel like that.
This is why I created my FREE 7-Steps to Set Up your Gift Wrapping Business checklist to help you get started (without the overwhelm).
So if you are feeling ‘stuck’ about getting started with your gift wrapping business, my FREE 7-Steps to Set Up your Gift Wrapping Business checklist will give you important pointers so you don’t waste time (or money) on stuff you don’t need and focus on the stuff you do.
