Outside of Christmas, summer is a fabulous opportunity to impress with your gift wrapping.
But how do you make your gift wrapping stand out for the right reasons?
Here I share 5 simple gift wrapping ideas that will make your gifts look stunning this summer.
Idea 1: Add fresh flowers as decoration
Using fresh seasonal blooms is a stunning way to make a gift stand out. Perfect at this time of year are alliums, iris, apple blossom & rhododendron. Tie your bow as normal and slip the stem of your chosen flowers into the bow
Idea 2: Pleat the paper

Pleating the paper is one of my all time favourite ways to gift wrap. It adds a 3D effect to what could be quite a flat looking gift. Traditionally for happy occasions you need to have an odd number of pleats on your gift.
And you can position your pleats anywhere on the front of your gift or create them on an angle for extra wow factor
Idea 3: Add decorative sleeves to jazz up plain paper
This is a great way to use up left over gift wrapping paper. Use a bold or vibrant contrasting piece of paper and place round your gift to form a sleeve. Take a look at a recent Instagram reel to see what this can look like
Idea 4: Double bow

Why settle for just one bow?
Once you have tied your first bow, tie a second round the first for maximum impact. This looks amazing with organza and satin ribbon in different widths.
Experiment with what ribbons you have available, mixing organza & stain works really well
Idea 5: Use a bold gift wrapping paper

If you want to keep things simple but still make a statement, choose a stand out gift wrapping paper.
Go really bold with bright yellow, orange or verdant greens.
At the moment my all time favourites are by Kay Minter. Kay picks & photographs the flowers herself. The finished gift wrap designs are stunning and work for any summer occasion. You can buy Kay’s wrap from Amazon
