Wrapping a gift for a Royal Wedding
Following their wedding on 19th May, the newly married Royal couple are likely to be inundated with gifts & well wishes. The public will be looking for that perfect gift and giftwrap, just as if they know the couple personally. From the smallest to the largest, inexpensive to eye-wateringly so, the couple are likely to receive a whole host of wedding gifts. What better opportunity to try out your giftwrapping skills than for a wedding.
There are so many beautiful giftwrapping papers and ribbons available, the choice can feel quite overwhelming!
Creating a beautifully giftwrapped wedding gift
A good place to derive inspiration is from the bride & groom themselves. Is there a theme for their special day? What do you know about the couple, as individuals and as a couple?
Most people will not have an Instrument of Consent, the document giving the Queen’s approval of a marriage. The document itself contains many symbolic references relating to the heritage of Prince Harry & Meghan. For example, a rose is featured for both Prince Harry & Meghan. For the former, this represents one of the UK’s floral emblems. The rose is the national flower of the USA, Meghan’s home country.

Taken in my garden
Of course, we also know that one of Meghan’s favourite flowers is the peony, such a beautiful flower, delicate yet blousy! What a gorgeous flower to decorate a gift with.
Using any fresh flowers on a gift looks spectacular & is sure to stand out.

You can, of course, create something that is totally unique for the couple. Pretty Gifted allow you to personalise the giftwrap itself. Choose the colour, foil & words you want printed – you can guarantee no-one will have anything like it!
Having recently completed an introductory calligraphy workshop run by Angela Reed (visit Creative Calligraphy for more information & workshop dates) adding a beautifully scripted gift tag is a perfect addition.
One of my all-time favourite things to do is use a wax seal – you could take this one step further and have the stamp made with the initials of the bride & groom.
And finally
One thing to remember, it doesn’t matter what the gift is or how much it cost, a little extra thought when choosing the right giftwrap, tag and decoration can elevate a gift into something really special.
If you are attending any celebration this year, get creative with your wrapping!
